BROOKLYN — Brightline, a pediatric mental health solution supporting kids, teens, and their parents, has opened its first in-person clinic at 32 Court St. in Brooklyn. Building upon six years of delivering accessible, evidence-based mental healthcare virtually to over 150,000 families, Brightline’s clinic lets families receive flexible, family-centered healthcare wherever they are – in-person, virtually, or both through Brightline’s hybrid model.
Brightline’s Brooklyn clinic launch is the first of several planned clinics in New York launching soon. The move to hybrid allows for expanded treatment options, more flexibility for care delivery, and increased affordability as Brightline partners with insurance providers to offer services in-network.
“I started Brightline based on my own experiences, and difficulties, accessing care for my own child, and we’re expanding Brightline to ensure that other families can access the care they need for their children, in whatever manner works best for them, virtually, in-person, or both,” said Brightline Co-founder and CEO Naomi Allen. “With years of evidence-based care and promising outcomes backing our expansion to hybrid care, the move also lets us offer more specialty care for higher-acuity mental health needs while helping to drive down the cost of care through insurance partnerships. Our research shows us that parents want to receive care that’s local to them and that’s covered by their insurance, which we’re doing with clinically sound, outcomes-driven programs.”
Brightline clinics will bring together a collaborative team of pediatric therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists experienced in a full spectrum of behavioral and mental health needs. Services include:
- Comprehensive in-person psychological testing for autism, learning disorders, executive functioning, school readiness, giftedness, and more.
- Children with more common, generalized concerns, including depression and trauma, can receive therapy, psychiatry, and medication management as needed.
- Brightline has built four focused programs with the capability to test, diagnose, and treat higher acuity concerns for anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), and behavior disorders including therapy, psychiatry, and medication management.
- Brightline is committed to supporting parents carrying the weight of what their kids are going through, but who don’t always have the tools they need to manage that concern in healthy ways. Parent-centered care is based on the child’s age and stage, the presenting concerns, and is clinically informed. Brightline’s care plans are family centered and fully integrated. Each family receives a personalized care roadmap, and care teams coordinate closely with the child’s pediatrician to align physical and mental health support.
Brightline will continue to deliver virtual care nationwide. In California, BrightLife Kids is in its second year of a historic partnership with the California Department of Health Care Services and CALHope. It offers free behavioral health tools and coaching to families with children under 13, regardless of income, insurance, or immigration status.
“Whether families choose to seek care for their children and teens in-person, virtually, or through our new hybrid model, our goal remains the same: To make high-quality mental healthcare more accessible, more responsive, and more human,” Allen said.
