At Fortune Media, we are reinventing how a storied brand, steeped in journalism and business, adapts to today’s digital-first world. The digital transformation of Fortune from a print magazine to a multi-channel media company is in full swing, and we want you to be a part of it.

The Product team oversees all digital properties at Fortune: our content and conference websites, to the new Fortune Connect membership platform. Our goal is to launch new products to build on our core competencies of content, events and education, in order to diversify our revenue streams; and to improve the user experience and monetization of existing properties.

We are seeking a Director, Search Strategy to join the Product team. You will work with other product managers on the team as well as stakeholders throughout the company. You will be a strategic thinker, as well as hands-on, collaborative, and pivotal in facilitating the next step in Fortune’s evolution by focusing on driving site performance and organic search traffic for Fortune products.   This role will define the strategic direction for all search optimization efforts as well as perform content and technical audits to improve search traffic as well as develop, own and manage the roadmap. You will lead technical SEO reviews to improve site indexing, organic search traffic and visibility of Fortune content. Additionally, you will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Editorial to define SEO roadmap and best practices and build reports to measure KPIs on SEO health and performance and turn observations into action and results. You will execute and manage various link acquisition campaigns to increase brand footprint and traffic and effectively communicate progress and updates to key stakeholders of varying SEO knowledge.


5-7 years direct working experience as a Search Engine Optimization professional 
Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Search Console as well as Core Web Vital tools, such as Lighthouse
Experience with publishing a plus
Understanding of HTML, CSS and how SPA sites impact SEO  
Solid understanding of SEO core concepts and techniques 
Strong team player with a proven ability to work cross-functionally, especially with technical and editorial teams 
Champion of customer centric and data drive design
Experience in creating and managing strategic roadmaps
Relentless prioritization and organizational ability  
Ability to develop tactics that are actionable and measurable as well as communicate strategic importance to all stakeholders
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Diligence and attention to detail
Collaborative, diplomatic and excellent communicator
Preferred but not required: Bachelor’s Degree in areas of study such as Engineering, Marketing, Analytics, or Product Management
