Job Description

A New York City entertainment organization is currently seeking a new Scrum Master for a great Remote opportunity with their staff. In this position, the Scrum Master will be responsible for playing a key role in ensuring a seamless planning, execution and delivery of functionality and data through a particular system (or systems), and tools.


The Scrum Master (Remote) will:
  • Coach team members in self-management and cross-functionality
  • Help the team focus on creating high-value increments that meet the definition of done.
  • Conduct and facilitate all scrum ceremonies and deliver artifacts for reports on team and project progress
  • Ensure teams meet sprint commitments and release milestones
  • Remove impediments that stand in the way of team productivity and performance
  • Create and maintain a clear line of communication with Product Managers, TPM’s, QE and stakeholders to effectively communicate risks and issues
  • Help the Product Managers formulate techniques for effective product goal definition and backlog management
  • Assist the Product Manager with prioritizing the product backlog to yield maximized value
  • Help the team understand the need for clear and concise backlog items
  • Develop the trust of engineering and QE team members and drive delivery and execution
  • Help the team to understand and follow the goals, scope of work and product domain
  • Helps individuals on the team follow the Scrum framework without being dogmatic
  • Collaborate with other Scrum Masters in championing an Agile mindset and executing Scrum within the organization
  • 3+ years of experience serving as Agile Scrum Master in planning and delivering software solutions, such as online and mobile user experiences, underlying transactional systems, and integrating disparate systems
  • CSM, SAFe or relevant certifications
  • Experience working in fast paced environments with products containing complex, interdependent tech stacks and teams, including QE manual and automation team members
  • Experience with CICD, deployments, release train, overseeing releases and deployments
  • Experience managing one or more distributed Scrum teams and products
  • Well versed in JIRA and JQL to be able to provide realistic data to stakeholders and support PO and PM to manage expectations
  • Familiar with various software development and project management methodologies (e.g., agile, waterfall, hybrid) and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), incl. processes, roles and responsibilities, entry and exit criteria, and key deliverables for each stage
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and similar project and ticket management tools
  • Knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Google Suite, MS Project, and Jira / Confluence
  • Experience with Jira and Atlassian products (such as Structure), JQL and Jira reporting
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
