Summary of Role\:
GlobalFoundries (GF) is looking for an experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator with a Grade 3A or 4A Operator Certification from NYSDEC. The operator should have several years of experience running an activated sludge treatment plant with knowledge of the operations, laboratory, and maintenance tasks necessary to maintain continuous operation of the plant and full compliance with NYSDEC regulations. GF’s plant provides final treatment at the East Fishkill Site and direct discharges to a stream through a permitted outfall. This operator will function as part of a team that is responsible for proper system operation, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and schedules, and response to system alarms and controls. Primary work activities will include system & equipment maintenance and daily regulatory activities, with some tasks related to control system support and alarm response. Operators must be able to work with engineers & managers in a team environment with a focus on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities are important, as well as identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. A background in chemical handling, laboratory analysis, wastewater quality, and/or electrical/mechanical troubleshooting are helpful.
