History
Tech Data Corporation was founded in 1974
by Edward C. Raymund, father of the company's current Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer Steven Raymund. Tech Data's original
charter was to market data processing supplies directly to end
users of mini and mainframe computers. In 1983 the company expanded
its targeted markets and redirected its efforts toward servicing
microcomputer resellers as a wholesale distributor.
Un July 1998 the company acquired a majority
interest in Munich-based Computer 2000, Europe's leading provider
of IT products to resellers. Computer 2000 also gave the company
a market position in the Middle East through a United Arab Emirates
location and broader coverage of Latin America with its operations
in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Uruguay.

Paid Time Off Benefits
- Company Holidays - in
general, Tech Data observes the following holidays: New Year's
Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day,
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
- Personal Time - All regular full-time employees
receive sixteen (16) personal hours per year.
- Vacation Days - Following completion of ninety
days of service, full-time new hire employees are eligible for
five-vacation days.
- Sick Time Off - Full-time employees accrue six
(6) sick days per anniversary year.
- Bereavement Time Off - Full-time employees will
receive a maximum of three (3) paid days in the event of death
in the immediate family.
- United Way Day - Employees who participate in
the United Way payroll deduction program and contribute one (1)
hour of their pay per month may earn one (1) paid United Way
day off each calendar year.
