History

The company's origins trace back to 1880, when DODGE Manufacturing Company Incorporates, two years after Wallace H. Dodge began the manufacture of wood hardware specialties.

A variety of different companies would form and merge together over the next century including Allen-Bradley, Collins Radio and Goss. In 1967, Reliance Electric would purchase the DODGE Mechanical Company. Rockwell would acquire Reliance Electric in 1995.

In 2001, Rockwell International Corporation changes its name to Rockwell Automation.
