Price Chopper is a chain of 136 grocery stores located in upstate NY, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut. It is operated by the Golub Corporation.

Price Chopper stores offer fresh meats, delis, bakeries and seafood. The chain also offers a free AdvantEdge card for customer discounts.

Price Chopper introduced Fuel Advantage in 2007 which lets customers save 10 cents per gallon of gas at Sunoco stores with every $100 purchased at Price Chopper stores.

Employees own 47% of shares in the company's stock. The company has revenues of more than $3 billion a year.

Price Chopper is operated by the Golub Corp. which moved into a new headquarters building in Schenectady in 2010. Jerel Golub took over as President and CEO in 2012.

In 2013, the company opened a new flagship store in Latham, NY called Market Bistro featuring an expanded supermarket with fresh prepared foods, a cooking school and sit-down restaurant.

In July, Price Chopper cut 80 headquarters jobs due to increased competition and reduction in the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

The company announced in November it plans to change its name to Market 32 beginning with newly remodeled stores in Wilton and Clifton Park in 2015. The company will spend $300 million to modernize stores and change its name. The stores will be known as Market 32 by Price Chopper.
