Landry's Restaurants operates several restaurant chains including Landry's Seafood House, Willie G's Seafood & Steak House and The Crab House. Other restaurants include Rainforest Cafe, Kemah Boardwalk, Chart House, Saltgrass Steak House and Cadillac Bar.

The company also owns five hotels in Texas and the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Landry's also operates the Events Company, which produces events in Houston and owns the Galveston Island Convention Center.

The company was founded in 1980 with its first location in Katy, TX.

Landry's announced it would acquire Smith and Wollensky Restaurant Group for $9.75 per share. Smith and Wollensky has14 restaurants, including Smith & Wollensky in New York, Miami Beach, Chicago, Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Columbus, Houston, and Boston. SWRG also operates several other restaurants in New York, including Cité, Maloney & Porcelli, Park Avenue Café, Quality Meats, and The Post House.

The company sold 120 Joe Crab Shack restaurants in Nov. 2006 for $192 million.

Revenues for 2006 were $1.1 billion. Profit was $217.1 billion.
