Kinder Morgan is one of the largest pipeline transporters and terminal operators in North America. The general partner of KMP is owned by Knight Inc. Mr. Kinder owns approximately 31 percent of Knight. In total, Knight is owned by a management buyout group led by Mr. Kinder and affiliates of Goldman Sachs Capital Partners, American International Group, Inc., and the Carlyle Group and Riverstone Holdings LLC.
