Kimpton operates more than 60 boutique-style hotels and nearly 70 restaurants, bars and lounges in 26 cities across the U.S.

The company's hotels include the: Hotel Wilshire in Los Angeles; The Muse and Eventi hotels in NYC; Monaco and Argonaut in San Francisco; Donovan House and The George in Washington, DC.

Kimpton aims to inspire with touches like yoga mats in every room, complimentary coffee and tea to start the day, hosted evening Wine Hour, in-room fitness programming and complimentary bike rentals. Kimpton's award-winning restaurants and bars are led by talented chefs and bartenders that offer guests a chance to dine like a local.

The company was founded in 1981 by Bill Kimpton with the opening of his first boutique hotel, The Clarion Bedford Hotel in San Francisco. Kimpton became the first hotel company to feature a complimentary nightly wine hour.

In 1991, the company expanded outside of California with Kimpton's Vintage Plaza Hotel in Portland, OR.

In 1992, Kimpton introduced a brand-wide pet-friendly policy.

In 1994, Kimpton launched its InTouch Guest Loyalty and Inner Circle programs and launched a lesbian, gay, bisexual travel program.

In 2011, Kimpton introduced new fitness amenities at hotels nationwide, including bike rentals, on-loan hula hoops and jump ropes and employee-led exercise classes in every Kimpton city.
