HomeBanc Corporation was a real estate
investment trust which operates the subsidiary HomeBanc Mortgage,
a mortgage banking company that focuses on originating purchase
money residential mortgage loans in the Southeast United States.
HomeBanc shut its mortgage business in
August after heavy losses from residential mortgages. It filed
for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August.
The company's stock is no longer traded.
HomeBanc Mortgage had 22 locations offering
loans in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Homebanc was named one of the Best Companies
