History

- Hasbro was founded by the Hassenfeld Brothers, Henry and Helal, in Providence, RI, in 1923.
- MR. POTATO HEAD, created in 1952, was the first toy advertised on television.
- G.I. JOE, the first action figure, was released in 1964.
- Hasbro became a publicly-traded company in 1968.
- The Hasbro Charitable Trust was established in 1983 (now the Hasbro Children's Fund).
- Hasbro acquired Milton Bradley in 1984.
- Tonka, Kenner and Parker Bros. became a part of Hasbro in 1991.
- Hasbro acquired Wizards of the Coast in 1999.
- The Hub TV Network (a joint venture with Discovery Communications) launched in 2010
