The Hartford serves customers through independent
agents and brokers, financial institutions, affinity groups and

more than 100,000 registered broker/dealers sell the company's
products. The company is the largest seller of individual annuities
in the U.S. and has been a provider of auto and homeowners insurance
to members of AARP since 1984.
In 2005, revenues were $27.0 billion and

The Hartford's Investment and Savings Plan,

The company matches 50 cents for each dollar saved, up to the
first 6% of pay. Employees may direct their contributions into
a variety of investment options, from high risk to low risk.
Eligibility begins after six months of service.
Another benefit of this Plan is the floor
company contribution. Whether employees contribute to the 401K
or not, the company contributes 1/2 of 1% of their semi-monthly
base pay and invests it on the employee's behalf in company common
stock.
Retirement Plan
The Retirement Plan provides employees with a lump sum benefit
at retirement that is based on earnings and age. Retirement Plan
eligibility begins immediately. Vesting occurs after five years
of service.
Employee Stock Purchase Plan

Stock Purchase Plan for the next available offering period. This
