In 2014, GoPro reported revenues of $1.39 billion, an increase of over 40% from the previous year, and net income of $128 million. The company said it shipped 1.3 million units in the first quarter of 2015.

The company added 324 employees in 2014.

In July, the company introduced HERO4, its latest camera that is 50% smaller and 40% lighter than previous models.


The company began was founded by Nicholas Woodman to help athletes document themselves engaged in their sport. It was first incorporated as Woodman Labs, Inc. in California and began doing business as GoPro in February 2004.

The company went public on Nasdaq stock market in June 2014.
