diesel and asphalt are marketed in the Rocky Mountain and Plains

History
Originally founded as Wainoco Oil in 1949,
an oil and gas exploration company with production in both Canada
and the U.S.
In October 1991, Wainoco purchased Frontier
Oil, whose primary asset was a crude oil refinery in Cheyenne,
WY.
Wainoco sold off its U.S. operations in
1995 because they weren't large enough to produce. The company
sold off its Canadian operations in 1997 and concentrated on
refining and marketing.
Wainoco changed its name to Frontier Oil
Corporation in 1998.
