It is one of the 10 largest homebuilders in the nation. Beazer currently builds in over 40 markets in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Western and Central United States. As a value-added feature, Beazer also provides mortgage origination, title and insurance services to its homebuyers. In fiscal 2006, Beazer reported revenues of $5.4 billion and net income of $388.7 million. Like many other homebuilders, Beazer has seen a big drop in sales. As of 6/30/07, Beazer had a backlog of 5,952 homes with a sales value of $1.69 billion compared to 9,449 homes with a sales value of $2.85 billion in the third quarter of the prior year and 5,563 homes with a sales value of $1.67 billion in the second quarter of this fiscal year.
